Water Facilities

The City of Wildwood is currently permitted for operating (10) potable water wells at seven (7) water treatment plants. All drinking water within the city is pumped or stored from these facilities.

501 Plant – This water treatment plant has three (3) 12 inch diameter wells equipped with vertical turbine pumps. In addition, the plant has two (2) ground water storage tanks of 500,000 and 1,000,000 gallons each along with supporting equipment and site improvements. This facility has recently been upgraded with new electronics and treatment equipment to better serve the City needs.

Huey Street Plant – This water treatment plant has a single (1) 12 inch diameter well equipped with a vertical turbine pump. Also on-site is an elevated-pedestal water storage tank. The tank has a 500,000-gallon capacity with an overall height of 147’. The tank is founded on a concrete base.

Ashley Plant - This water treatment plant has a single (1) 10 inch diameter well equipped with a vertical turbine pump. Also on site are two (2) 10,000 gallon hydro pneumatic storage tanks with supporting equipment. Part of the City's Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) is to add an additional well at this facility to meet the capacity needs. Plans have been developed and this project will be commencing soon.

Fairways Plant – This water treatment plant has a single (1) 10 inch diameter well equipped with a vertical turbine pump. Hydro tank is a pressure vessel welded steel tank. The tank has an approximate capacity of 8,500 gallons and is 22’ long and 25’ in diameter. The tank is founded on steel cradles and concrete footings.

Oxford Plant - Construction started in June of 2018 and the plant was placed on line in March of 2020. The plant consists of 2 lower floridian wells with pumping capacity of 2,400 gallons per minute (gpm) each, packed tower aeration, odor control for hydrogen sulfide, sulfuric acid system for Ph control, chlorination system for high level disinfection, a single (1) one million gallon water ground storage tank (GST), and 5 high service pumps (hsp) which pumps treated water into the distribution system.

Continental Country Club Tower Plant - This plant consists of a single (1) upper Floridan well with a pumping capacity of 580 gallons per minute, chlorination system for disinfection and a single (1) 100,000 gallon elevated water storage tank.

Continental Country Club Hydro Plant - This plant consists of a single (1) upper Floridan well with a pumping capacity of 350 gallons per minute, chlorination system for disinfection, and a single (1) 8500 gallon hydro pneumatic steel water storage tank that maintains pressure throughout the distribution system.
