Water Conservation

Water Restrictions Flyer April 2026

Even though there is a tendency to use water as if our supplies are limitless, the truth is that there is a limit to this precious natural resource.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) has declared a Modified Phase III “Extreme” Water Shortage with associated water use restrictions, effective April 3, 2026. Learn more at https://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/business/epermitting/district-water-restr....

Every drop counts – leaking taps and plumbing fixtures are pouring money down the drain! A dripping tap combined with a leaking toilet can waste as much as 24,000 gallons and $250 each year.

Water conservation is recognized as an important policy of the City of Wildwood and the State of Florida’s water management districts..

The City of Wildwood designated April 2026 as Water Conservation Month. See the proclamation at https://wildwoodfl.portal.civicclerk.com/event/2398/files/attachment/19358.

The City of Wildwood works to conserve water through the use of new technology, methods, and procedures. The city’s water customers also play an important role in this endeavor.

Assistance in water conservation is available through SWFWMD by calling 800-423-1476 or the Water Restriction Hotline, 800-848-0499. You also can find free, valuable resources on their website at https://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/sites/default/files/store_products/Daily%....

Assistance is also available through other sources, such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense program. See https://www.epa.gov/climate-change-water-sector/watersense-program#types for more information.
