Water

The City of Wildwood Water Department’s goal is to provide a reliable supply of high quality water at the lowest cost possible, in an environmentally responsible manner.

Maintaining the safety and quality of your drinking water is a very important part of our job in the water department. Our goal is to ensure that your water meets water quality standards established by the Safe Drinking Water Act and that we have a quantity sufficient to meet the needs of our citizens as well as an adequate supply for fire protection. We are currently permitted through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) to produce 4.752 million gallons of water per day. With a historical service area of 6.5 square miles, we expect to eventually grow to approximately 144 square miles making us a large metropolitan area.

The Water Department is comprised of two primary divisions: Operations and Distribution.
