City Commission
About the Commission
The City of Wildwood uses the “council-manager” form of government. Wildwood’s council is also called its city commission. It has powers to pass ordinances, adopt resolutions, and appoint the city manager (its chief administrative officer). It also has powers to appoint boards and commissions by resolution and to exercise all other powers provided by the city’s charter and federal, state, and local law.
Wildwood’s city commission consists of a mayor-commissioner and four commissioners elected at large, one of whom is chosen by the commission to serve as mayor pro tem. Each of their terms is four years and begins the second Monday in January following their election.
The city commission conducts meetings in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order, except as may be amended from time to time by resolution or ordinance. Meeting agendas can be found at https://www.wildwood-fl.gov/bc/page/agendas-and-minutes-city-commission-cra-and-planning-boards.
