Jason F. McHugh was appointed Wildwood city manager on July 10, 2017, after serving three and a half years as the city’s assistant city manager.  He has worked for the city since 2005, first as a consultant, and then as an direct employee..

Growing up in central Massachusetts, Jason discovered a passion for urban planning and public service. After graduating from Westfield State College in May 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in regional planning, he relocated to central Florida to pursue his career. He completed a Master of Science in urban and regional planning from the University of Central Florida in 2013. 

A member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP #026647), Jason also became a Certified Public Manager (CPM) through the Florida Center for Public Management at Florida State University in 2018.

Jason's work in Wildwood has focused on crafting public policy that facilitates orderly growth without degrading existing neighborhoods and businesses, as well as engaging citizens in planning while providing the highest quality, most responsive professional community services.
