Marcos Flores
My name is Marcos Flores, and I am your Wildwood City Commissioner Seat 4 representative. I want to start by saying how grateful and blessed I am to have the opportunity to make a difference in my community. I am a Florida native raised in the Wildwood area and a graduate of The Villages Charter High School. I am a former Sumter County Sheriff Deputy and was also part of the S.W.A.T. team while working patrol. I have two children – a son named Eli and a daughter named Ava. Shortly after Eli was born, I decided to make a career change for myself and am now employed by T&D Concrete, Inc. since 2018.
I strongly believe in keeping neighborhoods safe. With my experience in law enforcement, I know what that takes and have been working with the Wildwood Police Department to make sure we have the staff and equipment to do so. I also hold our police department accountable and ensure our tax dollars are being well-spent.
Additionally, I have focused on employment and our growing economy. I work together with The Villages as a business partner to continue a healthy working economy for Wildwood. By working with The Villages, more jobs have been created and more opportunities are offered to our citizens. By having a good relationship with The Villages and other developers in our area, we bring in more tax revenue for the City of Wildwood.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I’m a strong advocate for opportunities for our youth. I have been working with the City Manager to ensure that all of our parks are well-maintained and provide our youth activities after school. I believe it has kept our kids active and off the streets. We have made sure we have basketball courts, football fields, and softball fields available. I have also focused on creating sport leagues, such as our soccer, baseball, kickball, and basketball leagues.
