Charter Review Committee
On September 9, 2024, the City Commission passed Resolution R2024-18, establishing a Charter Review Committee to review, recommend, and submit proposed amendments and/or revisions to the City Charter. The Charter Review Committee consists of five (5) active residents of the City of Wildwood, as well as Commissioner Joe Elliott, as an ex-officio member, and two additional non-voting members.
The City Charter has not been amended since October 8, 2019, via referendum, and the Commission recognizes the necessity of amending sections of the City Charter from time to time to take into account the changes in technology, financial inflation, changes in the law, and other varying factors.
The objective of the Charter Review Committee will be to create a study of such portions of the City Charter that are considered ambiguous, unclear, or not in the best interest of the City. The Committee will then make recommendations for revisions or amendments to the Charter to assure the people of Wildwood that the Charter will be responsive to their interests. These findings and/or recommendations will be brought before the City Commission.
This page has been designated specifically for the Charter Review Committee. Supporting documents can be found below, and Agendas and Minutes can be found on the Agendas and Minutes page here.
The Charter Review Committee concluded its review of the Wildwood City Charter on September 15, 2025, and presented its findings to the City Commission on October 27, 2025. The Charter Review Committee Findings Report can be viewed here.
