The position of the City Clerk / Chief Financial Officer is appointed by the City Manager.  The City Clerk/Finance department functions as the primary source of information about the City and maintains the official records of the City.  It provides the professional link between the citizens, the local governing body and agencies of government at other levels, and also serves as the supervisor of municipal elections.
The City Clerk / Finance Department strives to maintain fiscal responsibility in the delivery of municipal services through the provision of timely, complete and accurate financial information.  All financial transactions are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with generally accepted governmental accounting principles as well as local, state and federal laws.  This department is also responsible for monitoring the annual budget and manages investments.
Annual audits are provided by an external audit firm to ensure the city is in compliance.
